Hulkageddon Has Begun – But Where’s Noctigeddon?

Well, Hulkageddon IV did already start on saturday. The only new fact is, they are hunting haulers and Noctis’ too. But so far they got 670 mining ships and 150 industrials but only 1 Noctis.

Well, you can salvage quite well in a BC/BS but I do not see a switch away from the Noctis. Where I am running my missions, there’s always some Noctis flying around. I think, the Noctis is a hard target: haulers and miners are easy to find in belts. Fly there, bookmark, jump in with gang, ready. If a Noctis is neither near a station nor a gate it is in some mission dead space. So you have to scan it down. Myself, I still need at least 3min to find some ship in the system. To find especially a Noctis in high sec you need a swarm of well trained probers. While mining can be done with low attention – salvaging will mostly not be done AFK (never heard of some salvaging bot). So you’ve scanned down a Noctis, your gang jumps in and has to bite through something between 10k EHP (eve fitting screen) or 22k EHP (EFT) before Concord arrives. I guess (and hope) in 0.9+ this is enough to survive or even to warp away.

Another way could be to scan out BC/BS doing missions, warp in with a cloaked scout and wait for the clean up team in the Noctis. Then call the gang…
